Condizionale Presente / Conditional Present

The Condizionale Presente is mostly used like the English Conditional Present (would).

- Wishes
- Conditional Phrases (if ...)

Usage	Italian	English
Politeness	Potresti aiutarmi?	Could you help me?
Wish	Vorrei comprare una macchina.	I would like to buy a car.
Conditional Phrase (if)	Se avessi una macchina, non prenderei più l’autobus.	If I had a car, I would not take the bus anymore.

Condizionale Presente / Conditional Present - Formation:

To form the Condizionale Presente / Conditional Present the infinitive is used, the infinitive ending is cut and conditional personal endings are added (-ei, - esti, -ebbe, -emmo, -este, -ebbero):
-are: lavorare > + ai, ... - to speak
