Conjunctive II Present / Konjunktiv II - Gegenwart

The endings of the conjunctive are added to the preterit stem (Präteritumstamm).

Regular verbs:

e.g. er kaufte - he would buy

I the forms of the conjunctive II (Konjunktiv II) - as in the case of the regular verbs - and the preterit (Präteritum) the same, the substitute form with „würde“ is used.

The substitute form with "würde" - would - is also used with irregular verbs.
